Once, there were 20, princes of a tyrant king, each a bastard child, born to a concubine, a lover or a prisoner, but the treachery of their eldest brother tore them apart. Every child knew the tale, but to Gwendolyn Fyr, they always sounded like little more than ghost stories wrought to explain to children why the kingdoms once united were being ravaged by conflict. Gwendolyn was a mage, a powerful enough one to be sought by the court, a call she never intended to heed, until she was dragged there herself, and tasked against her will with unfurling the threads of what really happened one hundred years ago. But to whom the ocean calls, storm wind will soon follow. Will history repeat itself, and an old crown war reignite between brothers scorned? Or will a woman of wit be able to salvage the kingdoms, and make right what had been done wrong, with or in spite of her feelings for two men who hate each other. This is a fantasy AU of warhammer 40k, not warhammer fantasy. There will be references, and I think I would be boiled in oil if I didn't include the skaven, so look forward to that. If you're going to cry about this book being cringe, don't bother reading. It's a dark romance retelling of the horus heresy/ the consequences thereof, if you know you are going to hate that, do us both a favour and ignore this book. Thanks!

"As I laid on the filthy mat, my white hair fanning out like a halo around my head, I felt that ice inside of me fester. It grew and spread until it spanned across my entire body. Until I felt nothing at all." Eira Gellert's world comes crumbling down as her sister is forced to leave for the army.
