This angst/hurt/comfort story is set five months after Splinter's death (Post Season 4 TMNT 2012)

Mikey ran away to April's Farmhouse after getting coldly berated by his brothers during a messed up patrol. The brothers went to find him there but soon as they found each other, Mikey got bitten by a giant mutated snake while protecting some mutated gophers

What results is after another argument is Mikey finally lashing out to his brothers, venting out years of pent up anger and sadness. But soon Mikey got sicker and was dying due to the strong venom, much to his brothers' horror

Seeking help from the mutated gophers, the brothers are in a race against time to find a cure for the poison in five hours or the poison will kill Mikey.

It is there that the brothers learn the true value and power Mikey holds in the family as well as realising how close they came to breaking apart and vow to do anything to set things right

Can they save their baby brother from an agonising death before it's too late? Will they be able to rekindled their brotherhood or is it the end of the Hamato Clan?All Rights Reserved

This story is a rewrite of a fanfic I wrote in 1998, popular in the TMNT fandom. I have been getting emails from strangers asking me for "Cold Fire" or to write a new story in the same world, a world in which Michelangelo gains telekinetic and telepathic powers via alien technology but at a nearly fatal price. Angst, Tragedy, and Hurt/Comfort were my Tropes to play with. Mikey got hurt a lot. But being psionic helps delay death, you know? Now I get to play with the 2012 reboot from Nick. Despite my skepticism, it really grew on me. Mikey has freckles! And huge bright blue eyes! And he's the comedic prankster with secret brilliant intelligence, the loud silly annoying weird hedonist with ADHD and natural ninja skills who could be the most powerful martial artist if he'd concentrate his potential. It irritated me at first when April O'Neil was brought in as a hybrid teen human with Kraang DNA and psychic powers. But once it was established that in Dimension X, Michelangelo was very powerful, I realized that potentially, Mikey could also have Kraang DNA, which is why he is able to navigate Dimension X as if it were his natural state. "Hey, in crazy backwards land, crazy backwards dude is king." And it does make me wonder if the writers will actually touch upon that. If Mikey really has Utrom DNA, and if it is activated, would he be potentially psychic? I'm not waiting to find out. This story takes place in the middle of Season 4. But I imagine they could take a break for a few months to deal with... um... this. It's technically an AU since I ignore and expand the canon six months. Warnings for gore, violence, language, descriptions of medical procedures. Hallucinations and creepy nightmares abound. I get very rough with Mikey and his brain.)
