Marie Sin has always been the happy girl. She's nice to everyone, smiles all day long, and never has a care in the world. Or at least that's people see. What they don't see, is that every night she cries herself to sleep, she doesn't trust anyone, and her mind destroys her everyday.
What hurts her the most is that no one, not even her so-called 'best friend', can see it. Until Jace comes along. He can see behind every forced laugh and every fake smile. Marie feels as if she's finally found the one that can protect her broken heart. Unfortunately, old memories have come up to haunt them. Marie's carefree glamour is starting to fade. "Do you know how hard it is for me knowing that you're with someone else?" Tyler asked, staring at me intensely. "You think this is easy for me?" I asked, trying to hold back my tears. "I didn't say it was -" he began, but I cut him off. "It's not. I have to go around hating myself. Hating myself for thinking about you. Hating myself for wanting you.
