After many years of abuse when Harry is nearly 11 years old, he finds a chest that once belonged to his late mother filled with her journals and a few other items. Then weeks later when it is time for Hogwarts instead of meeting the Weasleys at the station Harry meets Hermione. From there he befriends Hermione and Neville on the train.
