pheonix black was fifteen when her and her brothers ran away from home, never to see their dreaded parents again. the three of them showed up on the doorstep of the potter's, soaking wet and shivering as the rainy night dragged on. they were welcomed in immediately, given warm food, tea, and a much more loving family to be apart of. safe and secure, she thought.
phoenix is seventeen when her life tips itself on its axis and goes from being on track to promptly derailing in the most beautifully horrific way possible.
phoenix has always pushed away relationships. she's happy for her brothers, of course, wishing them all the best; but herself? oh no, never. chronically alone and she's fine with that.
well, until one barty crouch jr buries himself so deeply into her heart that there's no possible way she'd ever turn back from the path he's leading her down.

"So we're alone," he said slowly. "That's a thoughtful observation," she whispered. She could feel her fingertips tremble slightly as they clasped around his hair. She didn't know why she suddenly felt so nervous. She moved her hands and allowed her fingers to trail slowly and gently down the side of his face and he involuntarily shivered at her touch. Eventually her fingers landed on his lips and she traced across them softly. They parted slightly and she could hear and feel him let out what she assumed to be an unintentional breath. He moved inwards, his lips pulling from her fingertips to hover near her ear. "I'm a thoughtful person." * After getting accepted into the Healer training program and moving to London, Marlene begins her life outside of Hogwarts.
