Which certainly didn't prepare him to find himself on the Ancient, yet Mythical Evolution Server. 

The Server where many Pantheons were created, especially the most well known and most often hated... 

The Watcher Pantheon. 

What purpose did the Void have in sending him to such a place? Why are many of the players he knew and have been friends with are on the server?

Or at least, they end up okay. Tommy discovers this as one day, running from Dream and his exile, he falls through the snow and wakes up in an odd world, one with lots of people! Even more people than the DreamSMP, but not quite as many as SMP Earth, which he hardly remembers. Now, in this new world, far friendlier than his old, he must help his newest friends find the friend that disappeared from their world. Meanwhile, Grian wasn't sure where he was or who any of these people were until he bumps into Phil. When he found out a man called Dream had hurt his old friend's kid, he wasn't very happy to say the least. He was particularly angry at how the kid was dragged into their stupid wars, and didn't hesitate to tell the man who wore a plain mask off, much to the surprise of everyone there. It's not every day you see a 5'6 man in an oversized red sweater screaming his head off at one of the most dangerous men in the server. He has to learn how to juggle his sudden nightmares, the insanity of his new world, and the issue of getting home all at once, and he must admit, it was very stressful. Will they be able to get home, or will they be stuck swapped forever? They both had people, friends, family counting on them to come home. Counting on them to return to them. They couldn't let them down. Aka Tommy gets therapy and Grian gives everyone else therapy.

The Voidwalker, The Dragon & The Watcher , de Hermit_MultiShipper

Grian is hermitcraft's watcher after Biffa left. Of course, no one knew they existed. The war 300 years ago between the Watchers, the listeners and the Voidwalkers, with the Voidwalkers winning the war. No one knew the voidling who ended the war, other than his name was Admin Void. But Grian does. It's Xisuma's parents. The watchers now break into hermitcraft and take who they think is hermitcraft's watcher. Except for one small problem. WelsKnight is NOT their watcher. Xisuma, Xander and Xanthus must save Wels from the watchers at all costs. Now, they must prevent another all out war between the Watchers and the Voidwalkers at all costs or they risk destroying hermitcraft.

Xisuma noticed him approaching the group. "I see this is everyone who'll be coming today." He informed them all, a few heads turning to greet Grian how greeted them back. "That is all I suppose." Mambo replied with a nod, "So why exactly are we here?" he spoke again, asking the question that everyone gathered around was wondering. Xisuma just side, stepping aside letting everyone quickly gather around. Everyone around became puzzled at the sight in front of them. "....What...is that..." Someone within the crowd had asked in a clearly perplexed tone. "An egg idiot." Another voice piped up from within the crowd. Said egg was currently resting on what seemed to be a rushed nest of sorts. The egg was not an ordinary egg that's for sure, it was significantly bigger compared to a chicken's egg, it one could have assumed to was some sort of dragon egg (which grian heard someone suggest) but the egg was smaller than that and a whole different colour (which was a clean white somehow). One had bright orange hair with a face full of freckles and what seemed to be antlers sticking out of her hair. The other was facing away from Grian and was wearing a plain grey jacket with the hood pulled up over their head. They turned and met the builders gaze and time seemed to slow to a stop. Grian couldn't believe what he was seeing. He was standing face to face with a dead person~ Grian left Evo and joined the watchers, whom he then betrayed and in turn, they destroyed Evo and everyone in it. But that's not where the story ends, because when season 8 of hermitcraft rolls around, Grian is shocked to see a familiar face. But what he doesn't know is that this familiar face is there for a reason. Because the watchers wanted Grian back.
