After Mk and everyone got rid of LBD the return towards a new battle. By this time Wukong and macaque had become friends. wukong is hit with a special spear after saving mac. The spear kills him. Both Mac and him realize their feelings at that moment... Wukong utters out his last three words...
"I love you."
macaque suffers emotionally and physically. For weeks he declined his physical health spiraling down a very bad path in his mental health. He runs away and nobody hears from him for years.
Yada yada wukong gets revived. He has to go search for mac. when he finds mac he helps with his mental health and physical health. Yada yada more storyline blah blah blah you get it.
