Karman's dad is best friends with Baileigh's dad so, they were meant to be friends. A new kid in Crenshaw, Tyshon, meets Baileigh and Karman. Tyshon immediately becomes close with them, especially Baileigh. Tyshon has a very traumatic backstory that he eventually reveals to Baileigh because he trusts her so much. Tyshon ends up becoming friends with the wrong people at school and gets into a lot of trouble. But little did he know these "wrong people" would become his lifelong best friends, especially Jay. Tyshon and Baileigh endure their hardships separately and together. They eventually find themselves in love with one another and become the thug and thugarella couple.
