In Atlusa, when the war between good and evil ended, the people were forever divided into two tribes, the Kasuhi and the Amathu. The gods marked the Kasuhi with the mark of good for they had supported them while the Amathu were given the mark of evil for opposing the gods. They then gave the Kasuhi dominion over the Amathu so that evil would never raise again and to prevent another war from happening.

Thousands of years later, animosity between the two tribes has culminated in a pending war and at the centre of this war stands Muma, an Amathu boy born with the mark of good. Stricken by grief when his rebel brother is executed, Muma embarks on a mission to free his people. Infiltrating the city of the Kasuhi, he seeks to bring down their society and free his people. Yet within their midst, Muma confronts a reality that dismantles his beliefs. The once clear line between good and evil blurs, challenging his convictions, his sense of purpose, and belonging.

In this spellbinding tale, deception, secrets, magic, gods, and the irresistible pull of destiny propel Muma toward choices that will define the fate of a world on the brink of uncertainty and destruction.

Growing up in their sister's shadow wasn't easy; surviving after she left has been harder. In the nine years since their Kingdom was destroyed by the cruel Falcondar family, Kiridan has had two objectives: to stay hidden from the Falcondars, and to figure out why their sister never came back for them. They discover that she started an underground organization to overthrow the Falcondars...and then died three years ago while on a mission in the mountains. Determined to make something of their sister's efforts - and to be recognized as more than the less-talented sibling - Kiridan decides to break into the organization known as the Infernal Uprising, taking their rightful place among its leadership. But as the attack on the Falcondars draws nearer, they'll have to learn that leadership is more than barking orders, and that trust is difficult to earn. When the chaos spirals further than anyone expected, and new powers come into play from every direction, a lot of people may have to reevaluate what they stand for...whether they're an Infernal Uprising soldier, a traitor, or a Falcondar Princess herself. Sure, through the eyes of those in power, the world has always been in conflict. But for the next generation waiting to take over, the conflict is just beginning. And for the rest of the unsuspecting universe, it hasn't even begun. Which came first, the catastrophe or the change? And what's the difference in the first place? ******* ONGOING. And to the Forest, it may return. Umirin's people have lived within the ancient, powerful Forest since they had sprung to life there many generations ago. They respect the land they live off and worship the Heart of the Forest, the divine beast who sowed the seed it grew from long ago. Since its creation, the Forest had grown mighty. It is eternal. It is home. At least it had been, until a great tragedy many seasons ago changed everything. Now Umi's nation lives above the forest, in houses built on beams, to escape from the roaming beasts below known as Soulbiters. They are dangerous and deadly, but rooted to the Forest floor, only able to burrow through the soil. Above the tree tops, the people are safe from them. But man is not made to live floating in the clouds, and there are times when they have to travel to the ground. These trips are done by the best warriors and hunters, but encounters with the beasts are inevitable, and lives are still regularly lost to their curse. When Umi's beloved husband Shani is grabbed by the Soulbiters, he is prepared to do anything to save him from the gruesome fate that awaits if he is bitten. Anything at all. Even strike a horrible bargain with the beasts.
