Years after your father had been deployed for the Ishvalan War of Extermination, a grave illness overturned your life. With little other option in reach, you took your fate into your own hands and turned to medical alchemy as the cure.

You eventually succeeded -- but perhaps not as completely as you thought.

You're soon hurriedly relocated to live in the far reaches of Fort Briggs. There, you continue to study and hone your skills to repay those who've helped you regain your footing. But despite your efforts to ground yourself in Briggs, one thought continues to plague you:

A red stone, seeping into your hazed memories on the night of your transmutation.

After much convincing, General Armstrong grants you permission to pursue its secrets. Along your travels you encounter a strange pair of brothers who claim to search for the same stone, and while finding solace in their company is unexpected, it's welcome.

With them at your side, the truths you uncover won't whittle down your resolve.
