Emily and Ava have been best friends since middle school, they have been through alot and are closer than ever before as they begin their sophmore year. So far high school has been a breeze, with fairly easy classes, and little to no drama between them. Emily and Ava ready themselves for a nonchalant school year just like in the previous. But when the government releases secret information to the public about a deadly disease, Emily and Ava are forced to fight for their safety, and even more difficult, they are forced to hold onto happy memories that keep them from giving up.

Evelyn Archer and her brother Evan always did the best they could for themselves. After their mom died, and their dad turned to alcohol, they stuck together and did what they could to stay together and keep on living. It wasn't great, but it worked. When the attack started, she and Evan were separated, and Evelyn made her way to safety with some of her friends.
