"Shit!" I muttered under my breath. He pulled open the door and headed for me with a smile that made my skin crawl. I withdrew my gun from my bag and hid it under the table. "Ah Blake Reid. At last we meet!" He pulled out the chair directly across from me. "Who are you and why have you been following me?" I growled. "I'm the man who is going to kill you," he gave me a masochistic smile. I withdrew my gun from its place under the table. It was pointed between his eyes and I took pleasure in the shock that was on his face. He had only gotten his gun halfway out. The staff was still unaware of me holding a gun to this man's head because they were all around back in the kitchen. "Sorry, but that's just not going to happen," I said sweetly. "In such a public place? How brazen of you," he challenged in a shaky voice. "Yes, all the staff is in the back where they can't see us. Oh and if you didn't notice, there's a silencer on my gun. Say good-bye my dearie," I pulled the trigger and sent the bullet through his head. Blake Reid isn't your normal 17 year old. She's an assassin on her last case... or so she hopes. She is having difficulty with memories of her past and can't seem to get out of her shell, even though that is one of the biggest assets needed for her assignment. Defending Jacob: The Aftermath Book 1
This is my take on Defending Jacob, a "what if" for if there was a season 2. We all know how the book ends. The tv show is very different this what I thought could happen. Andy has been tormented all of his life. He's constantly covering up his lies. What is this going to cost his family. When Jacob wakes up. Will things slowly go back to normal for the Barber family. Will Andy's need for normalcy drive him to his breaking point. Will Andy cover up his lies with more lies. How will Laurie cope with her memories starting to haunt her dreams. Will the Barber family survive, will they figure out the truth to the unanswered question "Did Jacob really murder Ben or not." It's been 3 weeks since Andy's day in court. The day they voted no bill, the day Andy's nightmares where just beginning. Laurie was about to discharged from the hospital. She didn't want to leave, she begged to stay, to be close to Jacob. Still in his coma for 9 weeks now. Jacob finally opens his eyes. The lights of hospital room felt like they where burning right through his soul. His dad was holding his hand, with tears. Andy said "hey buddy we both here, your ok, your safe now." Jacob started shaking his head back and forth no, as he tried to speak, but no words could escape his mouth. He looked over to his mom scared, but than went back to sleep. Jacob stay that way for the next 3 days going in and out of consciousness. Andy screamed at Laurie, "how could you do that to our family, I'm doing everything to protect you and our family." Slamming the door as he left the new home. The scent of the short teen used to have was gone, replaced with the putrid smell of death and rot that covered the whole room and the killer himself. Blood smudged all over the teen and onto the older man as he attempted to escape. He got hungry and tired. He just wanted to eat and then sleep. He was preparing the girl, cutting her body apart and tearing the flesh off the bones, which is why the room was such a mess with her blood. Now, he had the boy in his hands. The hunger overtook him. The sharp pain of large "canine" teeth being plunged into his neck made Cameron scream. It was cut short, his whole body freezing up as the crazy man sunk his large fangs into his neck, ripping a large chunk of the boy's flesh in between his teeth. The pain only got worse when he felt the killer tug harshly, pulling his flesh out... ----- A gang of delinquents becomes lost in a forest, pursued by a frightening masked figure. He hunts them down individually, resembling a stalking wolf, wielding a crude knife fashioned from animal bones. As they struggle to survive, the teens also grapple with the harsh environment that challenges them.
