Zhen is almost 18, and her family receives a letter from the palace inviting her to go there to be one of the potential selections to marry Cheng, who is next in line to be king. His parents aren't too happy that he isn't married yet, so they are inviting all unmarried girls from the neighboring villages to come to the palace. The prince will then date all of them and select someone to marry. Zhen is not happy about this as she believes she is in love with her boyfriend at home and is being forced to leave her family and boyfriend to go to the palace. However, she soon realizes that the prince isn't who she thought he was, and begins to fall for him the more time they spend together.
