THE HUNT Stranger Things Steve Harrington Book 1 (Rewrite)

The Hunt
Eighteen-year-old Isobel Hopper thought returning to Hawkins would give her and her father a second chance.
After the devastating death of her younger sister, Sara, the Hopper family fell apart. Jim Hopper buried his grief beneath alcohol and anger, while Isobel was left mourning not only her sister, but the father she felt she had lost along with her. Coming back to Hawkins was supposed to help them rebuild their relationship.
Instead, Isobel finds herself caught in something far more terrifying.
When twelve-year-old Will Byers mysteriously disappears, Isobel is consumed by guilt. She saw Will the night he vanished. She offered him a ride home-and when he refused, she let him leave alone. Then her close friend Barbara Holland disappears after a night at Steve Harrington's house, and Isobel becomes convinced the two disappearances are connected.
Especially after she sees the creature.
Tall. Inhuman. Faceless.
Something is hunting the people of Hawkins.
With the police refusing to believe what she and Nancy Wheeler witnessed, Isobel joins forces with Nancy, Jonathan Byers, and her boyfriend, Steve Harrington, to uncover the truth. Their search leads them to a horrifying parallel world known as the Upside Down-and a bloodthirsty creature capable of crossing between worlds.
But hunting a monster comes with a price.
As Isobel fights to save the people she loves, she must also face her guilt over Will and Barb, repair her fractured relationship with her father, and decide just how far she's willing to go to protect the people who have become her family.
At her side is Steve, the boy everyone warned her about but who continues to prove that beneath his reputation is someone fiercely loyal, protective, and hopelessly in love with her.
In Hawkins, monsters aren't supposed to be real.
But something is out there.
Something is hungry.
And this time, Isobel Hopper isn't waiting for it to find her.
She's going hunting.
