' Why are you doing this to us ? ' The young avox pleaded , signing with a fierce urge that begged him to know what Gaul's answer would be . As quick as he was to sign the question , he was also quick to put down his shaky hands . Upon the said-woman lacking a response , the avox hesitantly brought their hands up to sign the question again with more urgency and infuriation . However , he put a pause to that action and watched as the woman grabbed a needle .

Flicking it to see if it was working , Dr. Gaul held a pleased look from the needle co━operating with her . Turning to the avox , she harshly plunged the needle into his arm and slowly injected the unknown concoction into his bloodstream .

Wriggling around in a struggle to fight off the pain , an amused scoff was heard from Dr. Gaul ━ giving one final push in the needle . A strangled yell of agony was barely heard from the avox , as he felt his vision blurring and his strength fading .

Before his eyes were closed , meaning that the calming darkness would swallow and envelop him : his hearing was on his side for this moment , as he heard Dr. Gaul mouth the very words that correlated to the reason why she was doing this to them ━

" because , you deserve it . "

in which , the capitol's avoxes are finally free from a forsaken life . they have had enough of people turning their backs on them , and so : they turn their backs on everyone else in return and escape . however , their life of being forsaken avoxes still follows them - even after they have settled in and formed a place of their own to call home .
