Sixteen-year-old Deniece Johnson is almost perfectly sure that she's completely gone insane. The sixteen-year-old insists there's some supernatural cult activity going on in their little town of Wroughtwood, and Frank is in no position to deny her; not when they both have strange powers, and not when Frank is unwilling to do any research for herself due to sheer disinterest. However, when Frank discovers that these strange powers may render her immortal, she has no choice but to go on a quest through the dreary and unwelcoming town of Wroughtwood to discover how to kill herself and the alleged cult members. Although the journey remains within the two square miles of Wroughtwood, Frank and Caroline's investigation reveals cannibals, prophecies, a slew of terribly flawed and scorned townsfolk, and, of course, the apocalypse. Hopefully Frank will get her happy ending, whatever it ends up being.
