Jules is a drag queen in London who is the victim of a homophobic attack one night after a show. It destroys his sense of self and safety for several months during which he hides away at home for fear of meeting the man again. One night he finally decides to go out again but he's shocked to recognize his attacker, in a gay sauna. However the attacker doesn't recognize him and Jules follows him. The attacker takes Jules back to his flat where they begin a sexual relationship.

It becomes clear that the attacker is deeply closeted and dangerous, but Jules devises a risky plan to take revenge on him by making a hidden sex tape. Unfortunately this plan doesn't go as expected when Jules starts to see the humanity in the man who's perpetrated this horrible act upon him. He feels sorry for him but also worries that he's developing real affection and tries to end the relationship before it's too late.

SECOND WARNING FOR SPOILERS FOR THE END OF THE MOVIE:

Preston, the attacker, is shocked to finally discover that Jules, the man he's been dating, is in fact the drag queen he attacked several months earlier. He believes that their relationship has only been a scheme to expose Preston as revenge for the attack and that Jules never had any feelings for him. This leads to a violent confrontation that both walk away from, bloodied, beaten and heartbroken.

Jules finally realises that he might be in love with Preston when he arrives home covered in blood and finds a heartfelt birthday gift waiting for him on his bed.
