People say love is dangerous. Myra Harlow never cared about love, nor did she pay attention to it. She never saw the role of a "love bird" as her own. She was always the type to fend for herself and care for her family, never regarding the attention of others. Aspen Salvatore was the same way, cut from the same cloth. He was always focused on his job and never on the ones around him, not even his own family. In fact, he was jealous of Myra's. He was jealous of everything she had, because it was once his own. The two were born straight from opposite Mafia gangs, The White Knives and The Panthers, the main rivals of all Mafia history. They used to be one, a partnered clan called The Skulls, but it was broken up and was never restored hundreds of years ago. The two gangs had hated each other for decades and wanted nothing more than their rivals blood on their hands. Love takes a dangerous toll on Myra and Aspen, playing with them as dangerously as fire. When they grow maddened by their disregarded feelings for one another, how are they supposed to react when they are expected to be against each other? ꧁Disclaimer: This book is not yet edited or fully completed, the full version of it will be published soon after I am finished with this version of it. What she'd look like without that shirt. What she'd sound like if I kissed the corner of her throat and whispered her name there. What she'd do if I pinned her against the counter and made her say please. What she'd do if I- "Dominic?" • "I stayed up late, trying to get good at maths... just so I could be someone you'd respect. Someone you might someday look at and see more. Someone who could belong in your world." "I didn't want your money. Or your praise. I just..." my throat tightened, "I just wanted you to see me. Not Tristan's sister. Not a kid." Just Elena. • Elena Evelyn Grantt has spent years pretending. Pretending she didn't love him, pretending she could move on, and pretending it didn't matter that he never saw her that way. To Carl Dominic Enzo, she was only his best friend's little sister. But when Dominic returns, everything begins to shift. Older now and harder to ignore, he still calls her "little sister" and still treats her like family, yet his eyes linger longer than they should and the tension between them grows harder to resist. She was never meant to love him. He was never supposed to want her. But some lines are meant to be crossed...
