Iwaizumi Hatoru is the son of athletic trainer and coach of the Japanese national team, Iwaizumi Hajime and the Argentina national team's starting setter, Oikawa Toru. Being the son of two volleyball figures, he has a passion for volleyball, but.. he's far from a volleyball "genius" unlike his brother who's thriving in Argentina as a "volleyball prodigy" playing official matches, practicing alongside Oikawa, their dad. Meanwhile, he's in Japan with their other dad, Iwaizumi. Feeling inferior against those who are talented and gifted from birth, he tries his best to beat those geniuses, yet... he still loses. Each and every time. Feeling hopeless, he gives up on volleyball and tries to focus more on other things. Until, when his father transferred him to Seijoh. His parents old highaschool.

Years ago, Seijoh was something, a powerhouse at that. But now, they're just a bunch of nobodies. Why would Iwaizumi transfer his son to Seijoh? Especially when he's already lost his passion for volleyball.
