Angela struggles with her father's teachings about the vicious nature of werewolves, yet she holds onto hope that they are not as bad as portrayed.
Meanwhile, the vampire prince, who is unaware of Angela's true identity, is determined to see what is happening in the werewolf colonies for himself, despite the negative perceptions of werewolves by others in the kingdom. The chapter ends with the prince about to embark on his mission.
