Seven-year-old Maddie has been forced to grow up way too fast. She lives in an orphanage - scared and unsure of the future. Life at the orphanage is lonely and filled with uncertainty, and all the children are experiencing sexual abuse on a daily basis. But that's one thing that no one else knows about.

One day a loving gay couple arrives - Nick and Charlie. It's decided that Maddie will live with the two men temporarily, while social services look for a permanent home for her. But Maddie, haunted by memories from the orphanage, she struggles to accept the idea of ​​living with two dads. She is scared, skeptical and filled with anxiety.
