Laura Driscoll, a name not known to many. For a reason she has no control over. Shes been locked up for 17 years, 4 months, 1 week, and 55 minutes. From the moment she came out of the womb, to the moment she was dragged out of her cell to this random ship with other delinquents her age. Forced to wear these weird bands and to be buckled in. No one knew what was going on, and no guard or authority around was telling them what was going on. She was in a room full of people she didn't even know, and being forced to do something she had no idea what it was leading to.
You might be asking, why is it she was even locked up in the first place, what can a freshly born baby do so wrong to be thrown in jail? Well, thats an easy question actually. She was born. Thats right, she was born and because of that she was thrown in jail with the other delinquents. Because in the ark, having two children is illegal. Meaning the second child is illegal, so no normal life for them. Well, in this day and age i don't think there even is such thing as a normal life.
97 years ago the earth was hit with bombs and missiles, destroying it entirely. 12 space stations joined together to preserve the last human society. They call it the ark, it is said that it will take at least 100 more years for earth to be inhabitable again. That means 3 more ark generations until us humans can make our final journey to the ground. At least, that's what they thought...

Before the fall of Earth humanity built a great colony ship, ten thousand of the colonist left Earth for a hundred year journey to Gillespie. They came from all over the Earth leaving a planet knowing they would never see another in their lifetime. The Ark is a rotating cylinder the size of a large island with its own train system. It's divided into three main sections, the city, the framlands, and the Lowers. The people are divided into three groups as well, Uppers, Middles and Lowers. Uppers are made of elite scientist, Astro-crops, bureaucrats they made up about 3% of the population. The Middles are are the farmers, the guard, teachers, doctors, the food processors, clothes makers and of course the mechanical maintenance workers. They make-up the 97% of the 10,000 counted citizens. The lowers are criminals and children born to un-paired parents. They live separated from the middles and Upper. In lowers you work in water reclamation or in one of the fish farms that supply protein to the ship. In the year 2149 Dylan De Rovia is trying to wrap her head around the idea that in two year's she'll be paired. That they call marriage on the Ark. Pairing is good most who are paired do end-up staying together because while genetics play good part in determining a match so does personality. Some people choose to use spend this time having a good time with as many partners as possible. Dylan however, vowed that she would never fall in love with anyone before pairing. The universe had other plans however, when Dylan learns that she'll pair with an Upper named Kyive Sinclar life gets more complicated than ever.
