Sage Hemlock spends her nights following Rosie Jackson wherever she goes ... To work, to her apartment - she even trails after Rosie when she visits her family back in her hometown. Being the stubborn person she is, Rosie decides to ignore Sage as much as she can and throw herself into her studies instead.

So, when a polite, handsome young man starts work at the docks with Rosie, she befriends him, relieved to have someone reliable in her life.
