You, the reader, are a surgical resident/nurse at Ochsner Medical Center. Anna Pou is a new Head and Neck Oncologic Surgeon at the hospital. This setting takes place in 2006, just AFTER Hurricane Katrina in 2005. This book may have spoilers! So I highly recommend watching the show if you haven't before reading.
