Loto has never had a strong connection with their family since being born in the Philippines and popcorning across the globe from France and then to their current home in Canada. On one typical day, however, they get a call from  an unknown number and discover it's their aunt they barely know. They have a terminal illness, so Loto and their family need to travel all the way back to the Philippines to see their aunt in her final weeks. With Loto's messy family, complicated friendships, and their own identity, their summer becomes a whirlwind. But when love becomes part of the equation, what will they do?
