Meet Kathrine Eals, a small town girl that says she's a big deal. Even though she never really hangs out with anyone nor has any real friends. Living with her "always questioning" mother, it's hard to keep a secret. Until she finds out her mother has been keeping one.
Kathy goes to the same summer camp every year since she was in junior high, Camp Lakebottom. She goes with an unlikely foe, who turns into friend, to only fall into a lake and almost drown. What happens next is up to Kathrine, and her new friends, to find what else her mother was keeping from her.
