Even before she became a werewolf, Diana's life was complicated. A descendant of a powerful bloodline, Diana bore the burden of being a witch born without magic, making her an outcast in the witch community. Longing to make up for the lack of magical abilities that came naturally to the rest of her family and determined to prove herself, she grew to become more knowledgeable about magic and the supernatural than any witch, finding solace in her family's grimoires and books, and especially the company of her best friend, a warlock born into a neighboring coven.
Her life then hits a curveball when a hit-and-run and a nearly fatal werewolf bite leads her to be bestowed with supernatural abilities, just not the kind she had expected.
Diana soon finds herself in Beacon Hills, shouldering the weight of a family secret she was desperate to keep hidden. In her quest for answers, she encounters much more than she bargained for. Alpha packs, vengeful darachs, complicated family dynamics, and an encounter with a fellow werewolf that suddenly becomes so much more - revealing a supernatural bond between them that sends them into the complexities of their intertwined human and supernatural lives.

Remaining both physically & mentally intact within the confines of Beacon Hills wasn't always a struggle for Rachel Hale. There was a time when the town had been her home, a place she'd never so much as consider leaving for more than a short vacation.
