The two girls were extremely close and traveled around so Reiki could help mortals find happiness and true love even during the feuding times. Around 50 years ago, Reiki senses something very wrong with her twin brother, a man who was also a half demon like Inuyasha. They find the villagers slain before meeting Sango, who wished to kill Inuyasha who she believed killed her village. After seeing the truth, the group continues their journey to find Naraku and Chiyo crosses paths with the long foreseen true love that Reiki predicted that she'd meet one day, southern wolf demon tribe leader, Koga.
