"I AM NOT A LESBIAN," screamed Olivia Skye, the girl who supposedly was to be my lover and the only reason I came out in the first place. I looked around to make sure no one heard that. I moved closer to hold her, but she took a step back. My chest tightened, and I could feel my heart pounding against my chest .
"What do you mean, Olivia? I came out so we could be together. For fuck's sake, my parents asked me to leave. I don't even have anywhere to live anymore, but that doesn't matter to me," I said. I tried to touch her again; this time she let me. I placed my right hand on hers, intertwining our fingers. "I have you, Olivia," I said softly, a small smile tugging the edge of my lips.
She stayed silent for a few seconds, which felt like an eternity to me as I searched her eyes for answers. She yanked her hand from mine, staring me dead in the eye. "I don't like you that way."
