Loosely inspired by the movie Blue Bayou by Justin Chon. There's a lot of the same themes of complex father daughter relationships, chosen family, lovers against the world, and nature as a refuge.
Escapist romance set in a fictional small town in Louisiana.
It features a femme nonbinary main character and an indigenous love interest. Neither of them saves each other, but they help each other heal. I wanted to take the idea of building a safe space literally. Lots of fluff, a little smut, and happy ending.
