"Isn't it obvious? This is the beginning of war."

The Guardians of the Elemental Crystals have aligned themselves with the ninja. Together, they split up to retrieve the Earth, Lightning, and Energy Crystals before Sleete and his gang beat them to it. In the strong kingdom of Doxton, Lloyd's team battles complicated feelings, while in the fortified village of Mistfort, Cole's group takes a trip down memory lane, and in chaotic Fervendale, Kai's team meets a new ally--although each team must be careful with whom they put their trust in.
	As they journey, the ones left behind work on learning more about the brainwashing spell plaguing Shillvaron and the rest of Ninjago. The teams work quickly to gather the Crystals, but the Sons of Darkness aren't far in catching up, and the heroes must be prepared to lose more than they could ever imagine. And as grief threatens to turn one ninja onto a path of darkness, lessons are learned, loyalties are established, and the fight for all six Elemental Crystals begins.

All of the ninjas have to go against their enemy Lord Garmadon, who is also known as Lloyd's dad. The ninjas go on an adventure of a life time to learn how to find their inner power of Spinjitzu.
