Ben, a dedicated Sheriff's Deputy, is deeply committed to his work and the well-being of his community. With little distractions, he devotes himself entirely to his job, until one day Autumn drives into town in her black sports car, which unexpectedly breaks down right in front of him as he finishes his shift. To say she is different from the women in town is an understatement with her clunky black boots and goth attire. But, it ignites a spark in him. One he has kept under wraps for a long time and has hidden from the very town he protects.

Despite being warned repeatedly about staying away from Autumn, Ben finds himself inexplicably drawn to her. For good reason if anyone knew who he really was beyond the Boy Scout persona he had kept up for years.

However, her Aunt's wishes took an unexpected turn, stating that she must remain in this rural town for six months before making any decisions about her property.
