ASPENPAW WASN'T supposed to die. She knows it in her heart. And what's worse, she didn't end up in StarClan, she ended up in the Dark Forest, a place of darkness and torture. She doesn't remember anything about her life in the Clan's, except a single face.

Blossompaw is the apprentice to Crystalwing, the medicine cat of AirClan, but even with such an important role, she always feels ignored. Everyone swoons over her, sympathising with her, caring for her, when all she wants is for cats not to do that, to listen. However, when StarClan tell her of this evil, she may get the chance to prove herself to everyone. Rockpaw feels like an outcast, everyday being hated on by his Clanmates for seeing things differently. So when the chance to prove them wrong comes up, he doesn't give it a second thought. But the evil still resides, and Rockpaw might know more about it then he's letting on, even to himself. Greyshard, as a former kittypet, has always thought of life in the Clans as challenging. For her, everything seems to go wrong. Every plan, every schedule, every patrol - ends up in a disaster, and its always because of her. Pineneedle, Willowbranch, Maplespots and Amberleaf are the leader's kits. Naturally, a lot is put on their shoulders because of this, especially Pineneedle. Pineneedle struggles under his parents' expectations of him. He overworked himself one day and went to visit the medicine den, until something strange happens to his body... Willowbranch is the least liked by her parents. She longs for intimacy with some cat. She tries to get close with other cats but often fails. When out on a patrol, she finds a ThunderClan cat speaking to her urgently about something terribly wrong inside his Clan... Maplespots has always been abnormally strong. After all, she is the daughter to one of the strongest cats in the forest. She has always had a bit of a murderous touch, ever since she was a kit.
