"Molina!"

Julie turns toward whoever addressed her, interrupting her and Flynn's conversation at the lockers. Her gaze meets none other than Luke Patterson's.

"Lucas," she smiles sweetly. He visibly cringes at the name. "What's up?"

"First off, it's Luke," The boy emphasizes, looking like he's trying not to roll his eyes. "Second," he enunciates, pausing as he leans against the lockers. "Hi," he says, a lopsided grin spreading across his face, his hazel eyes blinking over Julie quickly.

"Oh jeez," Flynn mutters under breath, antsy to get back to the important conversation she was having with Julie a moment ago.

"Hiiiiii," Julie drags out, her eyebrows scrunching together in confusion and annoyance. She looks at Flynn. "Anyway, what I was saying was-"

"Heeeeyyyy." Luke whines indignantly, scrunching his face up in a childish pout.

"What, Luke?" Julie says, crossing her arms and turning back to him.

"I'm trying to talk to you, okay?" he sighs, pursing his lips.

"Okay." She shrugs, ignoring the urgent way Flynn kicks at her shoe in an effort to regain her attention and continue their life-altering conversation.

"Okay?" He questions, tilting his head to the side.

"So talk." Julie says in a matter-of-fact way, trying not to shake her head in wonder at the clueless boy in front of her. He has her full attention with the way his eyes widen in that excited puppy way of his.

authors note: i took inspiration from the books and tv show, and besides my alternate storyline, everything about the boys lives (besides them being ghosts) is canon. willie is not featured only because i have separate plan for alex. this story may never be finished so read at your own risk of disappointment, but luke and julie live in my brain rent free so i had to give their story life. i love this show and i had to do it justice.
