But her new freedom is bittersweet when Prometheans capture her and she is brought onto the Cryptum before the Didact himself. Deciding to spare her, the Didact keeps her prisoner but over time, she begins to learn of his past and believes he can redeem himself. She refuses to escape his grasp and decides to help him instead; hoping to bring back the good in him and along the while she falls in love with him. But having been previously married to the Librarian and holding a hatred towards humans, the Didact feels nothing for her at first. Can this Forerunner be brought back to the good side, and could he love a human?

One of them, a Sergeant from the local SWAT team by the name of Zuton Cruton, befriends one of the aliens, Zorra. She convinces the leader of their squad, Will, who is also the Deputy of the aliens, to ask to call off the attack. He aggrees, but his request is harshly denied and he and several other aliens defect to the humans side just in time for the invasion by the Ecarian Space Navy [ESN] of Earth... Quick description of the Ecarians: They have claw-like hands, pupil-less eyes of any color, and hair that can be any color and/or color combination.
