8 years after As Good As Dead takes place, Pip Fitz-Amobi and Ravi Singh settle down and have their first and only child, Charlotte Amobi-Singh. At age 18, Charlotte is a little bit too much like her mother. Determined, strong-willed and stubborn as a bull.

Charlotte decides to look into the murder of a boy she was friends with, Sadie Ward, the adopted Daughter of her mothers best friend, Cara ward, and twin brother of Nicholas (Nick) Ward and was murdered 2 years ago. Will Charlotte and Nick be able to figure out who killed his sister? What possessed Charlotte to take on this case?
