Hope Sapras is an eleven year-old girl who's mother went missing, leaving her with her step-father, William Brennet, two step-brothers, Ellis Brennet and Victor Brennet, and their pomeranian, Lily. William and Victor don't particularly like Hope. They think she's a nuisance and better off on tthe streets. William doesn't show any empathy for her or complete simple parenting tasks: feeding her, paying for her needs, helping her when times are tough, etc. Victor doesn't show any empathy for Hope either. He constantly bullies and insults her, up to the point she's grown quite used to it. Ellis, on the other hand, is a sweet and caring boy. He is often the one taking care of Hope, and doing anything a child would need when growing up. He is also occasionally abused by William, alongside Hope, for being different to the other men of the houshold.
Further in the story, the Brennet family members die in a house fire caused by William's actions. Hope is glad to be free from the abuse but is also very upset about her brother's death and dog's disappearance. Hope is then sent to an adoption centre to try and find a new family to fit in with, one that will treat her right.
Hope meets the Raye family and later on, is adopted by them.
Will the Raye's be better than the Brennet's or will they be worse?
Read the story to find out.

WATTPAD BOOKS EDITION There are imperfect moments in every life-but sometimes, there are perfect accidents . . . What's the point of pretending nothing has changed when everything has? It's the last summer before college, and Jonas Avery knows he should be excited. Instead, he hides out at home, avoiding his friends, his family, and everything that resembles his old life. Because nothing will be normal again-because of The Accident, when everything started falling apart. Brennan Davis knows she needs to stand up and face her anxiety-the deep, dark, debilitating dread that rules her everyday life. Because what stops her from going out into the world and just living is going to get a whole lot worse. She's leaving for college in the fall, where she'll be confronted with even more to worry about. To get back up sometimes you have to fall down, hard . . . When Jonas crashes into Brennan-in a harmless, albeit embarrassing fender bender-the two teens connect in ways they never expected. As friends, they help each other overcome their biggest falls and faults, and soon discover that while love can't fix everything, it's sometimes a place to start. Sensitive, wry, and unabashedly authentic, The Opposite of Falling Apart isn't about finding perfection in another person or fixing the things we think are broken. Instead, Micah Good has penned an enchantingly honest novel about accepting the very pieces of ourselves that make us unique, whole, and undeniably human.
