Percy Jackson was an unfortunate child. His mother died in her sleep after battling illness a few days into a vacation at a cabin in Montauk. It was Percy who found her body on the beach shore. With his cries, the oceans roared and the ground shook. His cries only softened when from the sandy shore the figure of his mother arose and hugged him.
From that day, sand followed him wherever he went determined to complete his mother's dying will. For her son to be safe.
