Our beloved Elvis Presley meets a pretty blonde girl over in Germany named Rachel, or "Rainie" Mott, right before he leaves to go home. He is thrown right into his career, and in the blink of an eye, he is in LA, starting on his next film G.I. Blues. While there on the set, he spots a familiar face--the girl who he met in Germany! Once the Colonel sees this young woman, he's shocked, and Elvis is even more so when she calls the Colonel "Dad." Elvis had no idea the Colonel had a daughter, and a rather beautiful one at that. And... he falls hard. But she wants nothing to do with him, at least on a romantic basis. So why is she staying close to him?
Rainie only wanted to get a glimpse of him while she was in Europe for school, to see the guy her father picked up at a carnival and wanted to make big, but only so he could make big money. Well, time to go back to the states. She knows how controlling and money-hungry her father is, and she knows of his gambling addiction, so she worries for Elvis. If her father treats him anything like he treated her growing up, pushing and pushing and doing anything, even fraud, to make a buck, Elvis is in trouble. Also... Rainie holds a secret, a secret that her father and mother made her swear not to tell a soul, mainly since it could land her father in prison.
Note: Colonel Parker didn't have any children as far as I know. This was just a fun idea.
Elvis is one of the most famous men in the world, and pretty much everyone loves him for his fame. He has always said that he wouldn't let the fame get to his head. Well, it does, very much so. The love of his fans is like a drug to him. He wants to do whatever he can to make them happy. And the women... they love being involved with a very famous man. Even his girlfriend Priscilla is his fan, maybe his biggest fan.
Something needs to be done about all of this. In 1965, Elvis sees a very interesting young woman wearing all black and has black hair and heavy makeup. The young woman, whose name is Ignis, claims to be an enchantress. She shakes her head at Elvis and tells him that the fame has gone to his head, and people only love him because he's famous. If he can find someone who will love and accept him for him and not his fame, other than his family and friends, his fame will not be taken away from him permanently. The spell is put on him, and he has the whole summer--June 21st to September 21st--to find someone who loves him for him, and they have to tell him so, too. And a twist made by Ignis: he has to love and accept this person for who they are as well.
Sam's father is the main groundskeeper for Graceland, Elvis's house. She's less than thrilled when her father asks her to work there. Her previous job treated her horribly, and others in general pick on her because she doesn't have a lot of fashion sense, and she's not much to look at. People had even called her "beast" at times and "outcast." She hates the idea of being around the famous and beautiful Elvis Presley. Maybe she will just steer clear of him the whole time she's there.
