The story starts off with Sarah and Joel in the living room, and progressing to the depressing part in which (SPOILER) dies. After 20 years, it marks the anniversary of said persons death, and Joel goes through the years very depressed, until he is sent on a mission by Tess to escort a young girl by the name of Ellie to the outer Fireflies fences. But then instead of how everything goes.. something sinister starts pulling them apart, and nothing is like the game at all.

Ellie found traveling with Joel to be both rewarding and simultaneously frustrating. It was like talking to a cold, emotionless brick wall sometimes. So imagine her excitement when they run into another group of travelers heading in the same direction, and they agree to travel with Ellie and Joel. The most exciting part? The other group has a girl their age. This is essentially a Ellie/Reader slow-burn fanfiction. It's also a fix-it fic in regards to the Last of Us Part 2 because I have personal issues with it.
