Genya and Muichiro are both recovering, one faster than the other.
Genya at a certain point gets carried to Muichiro's house and he recovers there, when they accidentally took an unexpected turn, that ended up quite badly.
Soon after they started over; when master Urokodaki calls them back to the training grounds, they meet together to defeat the replacement of Akaza, which has been killed by Rengoku Kyojuro.
And from then on, they understood firmly their feelings.
