I'm having coffee in our terrace, then suddenly, I saw a guy down, tumawid galing sa kabilang kalye. Maybe to buy some food. Malapit lang kasi ang bakery sa apartment namin. But wait. Did he just.... Tumitingin ba siya sa... akin?
We stared at each for about a minute or two. It was obvious in his face that he was hesitating to smile at me... or not? Then, yeah. He smiled, yet, instead of smiling back, yumuko ako at tumingin sa ibang direction. I was baffled. Do I know him? Did he know me? I don't know.
My mom then suddenly scold me for not retruning a smile from a stangers smile. She was indeed upset for what I did. Like, what? What did I do? Why is she like that? I don't even know the guy.
Then the words from my mother hit me: "You know what? If you continue being like that, it's not impossible for you to end up like your aunt--a grumpy oldmaid."
