The child chooses a life of darkness and carnage while casting a sinister smile on his face. Despite his demonic nature, the mysterious boy wants nothing more than a purpose in life or a shred of humanity, however. He is quite an unlucky guy. Like a lost black cat all he seems to run into is ruin. Time and time again he's proven he is no longer a human. Dazai decides it is time to accept his fate and become the Port Mafia's Demon Prodigy.
This is a Bungou Stray Dogs Fanfic! "You don't write a back story for the sake of seeing a character's past. You write a back story to make sense of who your character is." -Random. This is my take on what would lead Dazai to become Dazai. This fanfic I have on my Umbrella Girl AO3 account, I just thought I should share it here since it's popular there.... ENJOY!

Before the intro, I would like to shout out a friend. They requested the idea be made into a fic so here it is. Sunshine and rainbows, they say. When you're a child, it's easy to fold into the happiness of being a child. The world's weights don't exist for you. As we grow, we discover pain; Are we really discovering it, or have our eyes simply opened to pain? Their childhood is but a fuzzy memory, blocking away the mental pain. Even now, they can't quite remember if they had a family or if they were loved. Even as a port mafia executive, they don't have much. Their only true bond is with a boy who knows the betrayal within their heart. It should have been them, not the one who put the betrayal in their heart. When they are hit with an ability and their whole body and mind turned back into that vulnerable child, why is it Dazai who gets the job of looking after them? Why can't it be somebody who won't cause distraction in their heart when they are back to an adult?
