The lights of the police cars dazzled us. The noise of the sirens was deafening. All of this impressed me so much that I stayed rooted to the spot. Memories of the past few months came back to haunt me. Tears began to slide uncontrollably down my cheeks.
-I'm going to turn myself in. "I got you into this and now I'm going to get you out of it," he said, scared but determined.
 My hand gripped Liam's as if my life depended on it.
-No Liam, no... you can't... - I couldn't even speak because of the lump in my throat.
"I love you, Hannah," he answered simply. He turned to the police and raised his arms in defeat.
I had to do something to avoid it. Whatever it was.
