Years later, Wally Clark, the spirit of a former football player who died in the 1980s, stumbles upon Evelyn in the music room. Drawn together by their shared sense of loss and the eerie stillness of their afterlife, they form an unexpected bond. As their friendship deepens, Evelyn finds herself falling for Wally, her heart awakening to feelings she thought were lost forever.

However, their growing connection is soon tested by the arrival of Maddie Nears, a new spirit who is investigating her own mysterious disappearance.
