Wherein, Elowyn, a twenty-two-year-old lady, found herself heading into the forest to spare food for the birds and rabbits, only to have her path intercepted by Duke Jake, a twenty-five-year-old, recorder (judge). Despite their initial differences, they found themselves growing closer as time passed. However, their bond faced challenges as Duke Jake's dangerous responsibilities to protect his people from rebellion and threats loomed on.
