Israel has never known sleep-until one night, when his prayer draws him into a dream that becomes a living nightmare. In this world, bloodthirsty beings hide behind human faces, and powerful clans rule through fear, cruelty, and abuse. When Israel defies the oppressive tradition of a ruling clan that ones gave him home. He is betrayed, tortured, and cast away. He is taken in by a forest tribe that is long denied justice, their lives shattered by generations of violence.
