Tom, an average 18-year-old boy, receives the game "Cliché" for his birthday. On a boring afternoon, he starts playing, not realizing that this experience will change his life forever. When the game begins, Tom finds himself as Arwyn on the edge of a medieval village, wearing a colorful cape, a lute on his back, and a hat on his head. In this familiar yet surreal world, he soon meets other players who are also trapped in the game.
Emma, known as Elsie the wizard, joins him, along with Jake, the half-orc warrior known as Grulf, and Mark, the halfling thief named Finbar. Together, they try to navigate the cliché-filled yet magical world of the game.
