Her and and her family members are the rulers of the ocean and are mermaid and mermans, Everything was fine and all, but so sudden there's always bad things in a happy tale. Pirates found out mermaids exist and tries to find where they are, they eventually found the kingdom in the ocean and attacked it with no mercy what's so ever.

some mermaids and mermans were captured by the pirates even the young girls mother. The rest of the girl's family was safe but it never was a complete and happy family, It's not like the Maharlika family long ago.
