Cella Songbird, a small town girl from the Seam in District Twelve, gets ready for the Reaping for the 74th annual Hunger Games with her best friends Katniss Everdeen and Gale Hawthorn. Gale and Katniss have always been...insanely close, and Cella has taken the responsibility of comforting herself by always being cheerful and happy, and pushing any REAL emotions back into the deep dark parts of her mind, with her angry subconscious. She has never really noticed anyone, except maaaybeee a handsome blond baker's son. But it doesn't matter, surely he'd never like a girl like her.
What happens when Katniss' sister is reaped, and Cella volunteers in her place, and Peeta is dragged along with her? Surely she'd die, but what if the odds are really in her favor??
